The low down on the cushion compact.
I’m a little late to the cushion compact game, ok very late. I’ve just tried it this week and my first impressions are really positive. I picked up the L’Oréal Nude Magique foundation in colour No 6. A cushion is a kind of a liquid soaked sponge (probably not the best description) which you can either use in a thin layer or build up the coverage by patting it onto the skin. SPFs, BB Creams, foundations and blushers all come in cushion form. I used a foundation cushion compact.
“It’s basically everything people love about a BB and a CC cream, but with more perks,” Pauline Maynard from L’Oréal.
It’s perks come in the from the hydrating formulas and spf that the foundation boasts. Here is how I found it.
I would say it is a light to medium coverage, but that maybe just this particular cushion. I found the formula was pretty build-able without clumping or drying up at all. I still needed to conceal my dark circles and blemishes but overall its pretty even.
The finish is super dewy and glow-y, which I’m personally a big fan of. It’s not something I would recommend if you like a more matte finish, but you can powder to set the foundation and get rid of some of the shine.
I must admit, as an everyday option I’m really keen. So far I’ve just used it with my Sara Hill primer and Urban Decay setting spray and so far so good. I’ll mix it up but I’m sure confident that it will become a makeup bag essential.
