There are many reasons I love being an Edinburgh Makeup Artist. One of them is I get to be part of shoots that let me get a little creative with makeup, meet other creatives and discover new parts of the city all at the same time.
Earlier this year I took a wander round Dean Village with the lovely Chiara Maria Herzog and Daniel of Daniel McAvoy Photography. As we scouted out locations I couldn’t believe I hadn’t spent more time in that part of the city before. It’s so beautiful! Dean Village is full of lovely cobbled streets, which Chiara mastered in her MASSIVE heals and it helps that Daniel is the king of quick shoots! It’s also got the water of Leith flowing through, the perfect backdrop to our shoot.
I had been wanting to do a shoot with pastel colours for a while. So picked myself up a couple of MUA palettes, Glitter Ball and Spring Break, because despite the low price point the shadows are so lovely and pigmented. Also, grabbed a pink and a purple pastel lipstick from Barry M. I choose to go for glowing skin to compliment the lightness of the pastel colours. I used NARS Sheer Glow and some strobing techniques to get the flawless skin. I then used a mixture of blues, greens, purples and pinks to create the eye look.
Here are the results of a great shoot.
