Lily Collins Golden Globes.

The inspiration

Since seeing a picture of Lily Collins on pro makeup artist Fiona Stiles’ instagram, I’ve been obsessed with the look she created. It’s amazing. So delicate yet bold at the same time, I just had to give it a go. Fiona Styles used all Lancome products but I used what I had to hand. So here is my version of the Lily Collins Golden Globes red carpet look, along with the products I used to create it.

Skin

Skin should always be radiant, never dull which is why I started with the colour correcting serum, from Stila. Lily’s skin is matte, no one wants a shiny face on the red carpet, but I went for something less matte. I choose to wear Sara Hills Velvet Sheer foundation as it’s the only thing my winter skin agrees with at the moment! Concealing my regular problem areas with Urban Decays ‘naked skin’ and my stubborn blemishes covered with Sara Hills concealer ‘milk bottle’. I always like to leave blush until the end so I can get the balance right, I then used a floral pink, ‘blushing bride’ by Tarte.

Eyes

It’s rare to find a pretty pink eye look that doesn’t make you washed out or tired, which is why I was so inspired by this look. I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills, ‘Modern Renaissance’ palette using only the shade love letter. I think it had a likeness to the original. I should have used an eye primer and cover up to disguise some of the darkness, but I was too excited to get started. Ooops! Fiona Stiles used a nudey/mauve lip pencil and blush to achieve this look. Something I will definitely be trying!

Lips

I have always loved a red lip so was great to see it paired with a delicate eye and pretty fairy like dress. Lily’s lips were very matte and the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick, ‘So Marilyn’ is more of a semi matte so I used a setting powder to give a more matte effect. In hindsight, I think MAC Ruby Woo would have been a closer fit or Fiona Stiles used a Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in Souvenir.
