Makeup Trends 2017
As a makeup artist, I am always asked what I think will be the next big trend or what products will be. So I’ve done some digging and here are what have been tipped as the new makeup trends for 2017.
It’s time to leave the heavy coverage foundation in 2016 and let your skin breathe! I feel like fresh skin is something that gets tipped as the ‘new trend’ every year but I really hope this is the year it takes off! The ‘no makeup, makeup’ is always a winner on the catwalks and it’s time we focused on taking care of our skin and not clogging our pores with too many products. The last few years we have been hit with new trends such a baking and strobing and the classic contouring has been back in the spotlight again thanks to celeb makeup artists such as Kimmy Ks, Mario Dedivanovic. I see clients time and time again who just pile on makeup all over their skin, instead of using colour correctors or only building up coverage where they need it. Why not give glowy, radiant skin a try this year? My favourite product for bright skin is a cushion. Check out my blog on it here.
Bold lips have been taken to the extreme in the last year on the runways and it’s now time to bring them to our everyday. Lip art, metallic lips, ombre lips, glitter lips, there is no limit to what can be created on your lips. Make sure you nourish your lips to get the best finish with whatever you choose! If you need any inspiration just look at the Glitter Lips from the recent Fendi show. Swoon! Next time your favourite lipstick runs out why not buy a shade brighter?
Metallic Eye Makeup
If you haven’t seen Pat McGraths new collection of metallic amazing-ness you are missing out. She has dazzled us, as she brought her glitters and metallic eye makeup to the catwalks and her A-list pals. Her products have sparked bold, graphic metallic eye looks, which are the ultimate party must have. However you don’t have to wait until the next time (or first time) you’re on the runway to try this trend. Mix up your eyeliner with a metallic finish or double line, the urban decay razor sharp liner are great to get your started adding a little metallic colour to your life!
What makeup trends are you looking forward to trying out in 2017? I would love to know!
