How To Wedding Plan | Bridal Makeup Artist

You’ve booked your venue and you have the date. Now what?!

Firstly congratulations! Planning your wedding is such an exciting time! It can also be overwhelming, so much to think about and to do. Where do you even start? The average engagement lasts 14 months*, obviously some are shorter and some are longer -I have bookings into 2018- but its often a significant amount of time to be planning your big day. I have been married and worked in the wedding industry now for a few years and love being a bridal makeup artist. So from my experience, here are my top tips on how to keep sane and plan the best day ever.

Decide your priorities.

Some of the best advice we got when planning our wedding was to ‘work out how we wanted the day to feel’. Then everything else falls into place. Decide if you want a relaxed feel, a family feel, an elegant feel or *insert preferred wedding*. Whatever will make you feel special and memorable for you! Then let everything flow from there.

Book your suppliers as soon as possible.

Once you know the things that are important to you can start searching for your dream suppliers. The most popular suppliers tend to get booked up quickly so it’s never too early to book when you find the right supplier.

Communication is key.

There is no such thing as over communication! Phone, Skype or email any makeup artist or supplier that you are interested in hiring. This will give you a good insight to what they are like and will put your mind at ease as they answer any questions you have. I know myself, as a makeup artist just how many questions you have and I am always happy to chat them through with prospective clients.

Enjoy it!

Weddings understandably can cause a little stress along the way but ultimately is meant to be a happy occasion. Try to remember that the day revolved around your love for one another

Hope this helps with your wedding planning!
